And these are the tools you need, a small roller tray like this one, a high quality enamel paint like this, 2 1/2 inch sash brush, and a mini roller like this. You don't need a lot of paint, it doesn't take much to paint a door. Just cover the bottom with about a half inch or so, it will be all you need and we're going to start painting these 1 panel at a time.
While wall-to-wall carpet is soft and warm under foot, it is does not lend itself to a lavish look. Hardwood on the other hand provides that classic visual appeal. It seem like a budget buster, but it will last for years making the investment well worth it, especially if you compare it to replacing carpeting every few years. Because they are made from wood and woodbyproducts and not valuable and scarce hardwoods, they are also anenvironmentally wise choice.

Because of the mirror on the bathroom door and to save money we choose to only apply the trim work to the hallway side of the door. For each of these doors it took approximately 18 to 20 ft of trim. (2 1/2 pieces of 8ft mdf per-primed trim. Shown below. Price was $4.45 per piece at Home Depot)
